Network Solutions

Use this page if Network Solutions is the registrar your lookup showed. You will replace the Network Solutions nameservers with the two nameservers on your SayVel dashboard.

Before you start, read the short checklist on the any-registrar page, and have your SayVel dashboard open so you can copy the two nameservers.

Do you get email through Network Solutions?

Network Solutions sells email with its domains, and that email needs its own DNS records. If your email address at this domain is a Network Solutions mailbox, tell us before you change anything, so we can carry those records over. See Email keeps working.

1. Sign in to your Network Solutions account.

2. In the menu on the left, select Domains.

3. Select your domain. This opens its overview page.

4. Find the Advanced Tools section. Next to Nameservers (DNS), select Manage.

5. Network Solutions may show a warning about changing nameservers. Read it, then select Continue.

6. Enter the two nameservers from your SayVel dashboard.

7. Select Save.

How long it takes

Network Solutions says a nameserver change may take 24 to 48 hours. Once it has had time, check that it worked.

Changing your mind

Network Solutions has a Revert to Defaults choice on the same screen. It puts the Network Solutions nameservers back. That is your way back if you need it.

• Network Solutions has a separate Custom Nameservers page. That one creates your own private nameservers with their own addresses. You do not need it. Use only the Manage link next to Nameservers (DNS).
• Once you use other nameservers, DNS records you add at Network Solutions are not visible on the internet. Records live with us from then on.
• Network Solutions’ two help pages describe the menus a little differently, for example Domain on one and Domains on the other, and one has an extra Settings step. If your screen looks different from the steps above, look for the Advanced Tools section and the Nameservers (DNS) line, which both pages agree on.
• If the change will not save, see A locked domain.
