Publish history and going back

Every time you publish a change, your dashboard keeps a record of it. If a change was a mistake, you can put your site back the way it was at an earlier publish with one click.

  1. Open Home in your dashboard.

  2. Scroll to Publish history and click its name.

  3. Read the list. The newest publish is first. Each row shows:

    • The date and time.
    • A small label: safe, confirm or billing. Safe is an ordinary change. The other two mark changes that needed an extra look before they went out.
    • A short description of what changed. If there is more than one change, it ends with how many more, like +2 more.

If you have not published anything yet, it says No publishes recorded yet, and that history starts with your next save.

Changes our team made for you are marked in plain words on their row.

  1. Open Publish history as above.

  2. Find the row for the version you want to return to.

  3. Click Revert on that row. The button changes to Really revert? for a few seconds. This is your chance to change your mind.

  4. Click Really revert? to confirm. If you wait too long, the button goes back to Revert and nothing happens.

  5. The button says Reverting…, and then the list refreshes. A line above it tells you your site is redeploying. Give it a minute or so, then visit your site.

The newest row has no Revert button. It is the version that is live now, so there is nothing to go back to.

Going back is itself a publish, so it appears at the top of your list. You can undo a revert the same way.

If a row shows Revert failed with a reason, nothing changed. Try again in a moment. If the list says it could not load, close Publish history and open it again.

For a mistake you just made while editing, you do not need this page. The Studio has Undo and a What’s changed list. See Preview, undo and publish.
