GoDaddy

Use this page if GoDaddy is the registrar your lookup showed. You will replace GoDaddy’s nameservers with the two nameservers on your SayVel dashboard.

Before you start, read the short checklist on the any-registrar page, and have your SayVel dashboard open so you can copy the two nameservers.

  1. Sign in to your GoDaddy Domain Portfolio.

  2. Select your domain. This opens its Domain Settings page.

  3. Select DNS, then select Nameservers.

  4. Choose I’ll use my own nameservers. Do not choose GoDaddy Nameservers.

  5. Enter the two nameservers from your SayVel dashboard, one per box.

  6. Select Save, then select Continue to finish.

  7. If GoDaddy asks you to prove it is you, follow its prompt. It sends a code to your phone or an authenticator app if you have 2-step verification turned on. Otherwise it emails a one-time password to the address on your GoDaddy account.

GoDaddy says most DNS changes take effect within an hour, but a change can take up to 48 hours to reach everywhere. Once it has had time, check that it worked.

  • When you leave GoDaddy’s nameservers, your DNS settings move away from your GoDaddy account. Anything you used to edit in GoDaddy’s DNS list will be handled by us from now on.
  • GoDaddy says some domains have special requirements for nameserver settings. If the Nameservers option is missing or will not save, see A locked domain.
