IONOS

Use this page if IONOS is the registrar your lookup showed. You will replace IONOS’s nameservers with the two nameservers on your SayVel dashboard.

Before you start, read the short checklist on the any-registrar page, and have your SayVel dashboard open so you can copy the two nameservers.

  1. Sign in to your IONOS account and open your list of domains.

  2. Find your domain. Under Actions next to it, select the gear icon, then select Name Server.

  3. Select Use Custom Name Servers.

  4. Enter the two nameservers from your SayVel dashboard in the Name Server 1 and Name Server 2 fields. Leave the third and fourth fields empty.

  5. Select Save.

How long it takes

IONOS says the change can take up to 48 hours to take effect everywhere. Once it has had time, check that it worked.

Good to know

  • This works for your main domain, like yourbusiness.com. A subdomain, like shop.yourbusiness.com, is set up differently. If you need that, message us.
  • Once you use other nameservers, DNS records you add in IONOS are not visible on the internet. Records live with us from then on. Read Email keeps working if you have email at your domain.
