Settings
Settings is where you control how the bottom of every page on your site signs off. There are two parts: the copyright line, and a small credit to SayVel.
Change the copyright line
Section titled “Change the copyright line”-
Click Settings in your dashboard menu. The page is called Copyright and Branding.
-
Use the Show the copyright line switch to turn the © line in your footer on or off.
-
In Name, write your business name the way you want it to read.
-
In Start year, type the year you started if you want it shown. It must be four digits, like 2019. Leave it empty to show only this year.
-
Check the Preview box. It shows the line exactly as visitors will see it.
-
Click Save.
The end year is always this year. You do not set it, and it updates on its own.
If you started in 2019 and it is now 2026, the line shows the © sign, both years as a range from 2019 to 2026, and then your name. If the start year is this year, or empty, it shows just one year.
If you turn the switch off, the preview reads No copyright line. and your footer shows none.
Turn the SayVel credit on or off
Section titled “Turn the SayVel credit on or off”The second switch reads Show “Built by SayVel with Astro” in your footer. It is on by default. SayVel and Astro each link to their own site.
-
On Settings, find the credit switch under the copyright part.
-
Turn it off to remove the credit, or on to show it.
-
Click Save.
Some sites show a note under this switch that reads “Your site gets this switch with its next update from SayVel.” That means the switch is not on your site yet. It will be after that update.
What happens when you save
Section titled “What happens when you save”Saving changes your site, so your site rebuilds. A message under the button says so: Saved. Your site is rebuilding now. The change shows on your live site when the rebuild finishes, usually within two minutes.
If nothing changed, it says Saved. Nothing needed to change. and your site does not rebuild.
If something goes wrong, the message tells you, and nothing on your site changes. For example, a start year later than this year is turned down, and so is a name that is too long.
