Bluehost

Use this page if Bluehost is the registrar your lookup showed. You will replace the Bluehost nameservers with the two nameservers on your SayVel dashboard.

Before you start, read the short checklist on the any-registrar page, and have your SayVel dashboard open so you can copy the two nameservers.

  1. Sign in to your Bluehost account.

  2. In the menu on the left, select Domains.

  3. If you have more than one domain, select the one you are moving to SayVel.

  4. Open the Nameservers tab.

  5. Select Change Nameservers.

  6. Enter the two nameservers from your SayVel dashboard.

  7. Select Save.

Bluehost says to allow 24 to 48 hours for the change to take effect everywhere. Once it has had time, check that it worked.

  • Bluehost’s page also covers private nameservers for its VPS and dedicated hosting. That is a different thing. You do not need it.
  • Once you use other nameservers, DNS records you add at Bluehost are not visible on the internet. Records live with us from then on.
  • Bluehost suggests that you save a copy of your DNS records and test your email after any nameserver change. That is good advice here too. See Email keeps working.
  • If the change will not save, see A locked domain.
